The time is here.
The Christmas season is my most favorite season of all.
A season of giving.
A season of snuggling under the blankets.
A season of tradition and rituals.
In the world that we have now, we need this more than ever. A time filled with hot chocolate, lights, and warm candles glowing all around.
This season does not pass me without thinking about the struggles that have hit many people this last year.
-fires in Australia
-fires in California and Colorado
-Police Brutality taking too many black and brown bodies
-a voice filling the air with hatred and oppression.
-two older men arguing over things that should be unifying
-the global pandemic where it is causing a deeper divide between the country and the world.
When Mary was greeted by Angel Gabriel, they greeted Mary with the words, "Do Not Be Afraid" There were many reasons for Mary to be afraid as she was a young woman who was about to marry a man. She did not understand how she could be pregnant if she and Joseph did not lay in the same bed.
As churches all around the world light the first of four candles this week, the word that we hear is hope. Hope is what we all need right now and I HOPE that this time of waiting brings all people closer to each other and Christ.
